Panthers Scratch Bennett vs. Devils With Upper-Body Injury
The Florida Panthers have scratched forward Sam Bennett for their game against the New Jersey Devils on Friday night due to an upper-body injury.
Bennett left the Panthers' 5-2 win over the New York Islanders on Thursday in the third period after taking a hit from Islanders defenseman Ryan Pulock.
Panthers coach Paul Maurice said after the game that Bennett was "day-to-day" with an upper-body injury. Maurice said Bennett would be re-evaluated on Friday.
The Panthers are already without forwards Anthony Duclair and Rudolfs Balcers due to injury. Duclair is out with a lower-body injury, while Balcers is out with an upper-body injury.
The Devils are also dealing with some injuries. Forward Jesper Bratt is out with a lower-body injury, while defenseman Ryan Graves is out with an upper-body injury.
The Panthers and Devils are scheduled to face off at 7 p.m. ET on Friday night at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
